Sung Cho

Sung Cho has fifteen years of industry experience in mobile game development and data analytics. Before founding Chartmetric, he was product manager of Sales Cloud applications at Oracle. He strongly believes that data can solve challenging problems and improve our understanding of people and their behaviors. Sung received his MBA from UCLA Anderson, while enjoying the breeze of Santa Monica and the view of the Pacific beach.   

Warren Lee

Warren is a full stack developer by all means, and a music data enthusiast. He also has experiences in audio effects design, synthesis, and machine audition(applying machine learning techniques to audio signal data). Warren earned his bachelor's degree in physics from National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan where he played guitar in a band, and master's degree from Stanford CCRMA (Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics). 

Komala Prabhu

Komala is a full stack developer who can’t get through the day without Bollywood songs blasting in her ears. Komala completed her bachelor’s degree in Computer Science in SSN College of Engineering in India, after which she worked as a software engineer for about two years before moving to the Silicon Valley to get a master’s degree in Software Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. 

Marc G Tan

Marc is a full stack developer with a love for music. Marc grew up in Singapore where he was an innovations engineer in the Singapore Military for two years, building novel systems to improve soldier productivity. Marc left Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, to pursue 42 Silicon Valley, a futuristic intensive coding institution where he specialized in platform infrastructure and algorithm design. 

Jason Joven

Jason is Chartmetric's Music Data Storyteller and Project Manager. With a US Navy cryptologic intelligence analysis background, he now helps create actionable insights & tool features for Chartmetric clients. He has interned at Warner Music Group, Live Nation, Songtrust, and Universal Music Group. He earned two Master of Arts degrees at New York University (Music Business/Data focus & Pop Culture Analytics) and a Bachelor degree at University of Illinois (Marketing). Jason has a weakness for new music gear, bubble tea, electric skateboards. 

Josh Hayes

Josh is a data scientist and research methodologist, with over a decade of experience working within the intersection of quantitative analysis and social theory. He earned a PhD in Sociology from University of California, Davis and a Master’s in Religious Studies from Stanford University. He specializes in translating fuzzy, real-world interests into concrete, explicit questions that can then be directly connected to data structures and algorithms. Josh is never happier than when he is in a corner booth listening to live music from passionate artists.  

Michael Warner

Michael has been immersed in the music industry for over 15 years. During this time he has dipped his feet into music production, radio and podcast hosting, as well as mixing as a DJ. Originally discovering Chartmetric during it’s soft launch in 2016, Michael quickly became an ambassador, bringing many of his fellow independent artists onboard. Michael is now part of the team, developing relationships with Artists and Labels, hosting product demonstrations and making funny jokes to impress his colleagues. 

Chaz Jenkins

Chaz is a partner and advisor at chartmetric and helps with strategy, marketing and client relationships. He also advises major and independent labels, as well as managers and publishers, on streaming, helping them create new ways to grow audiences for artists globally. In the past, he held senior positions in major record companies and founded Grammy Award-winning indie labels, as well as working in the live music sector and nightclubs. Chaz lectures internationally in universities and speaks regularly at conferences including Google Zeitgeist on the future of the music industry. 

Tomi Kalmi

Tomi is a full stack developer specializing in front end engineering. After earning his bachelor's and master's in Computer Science from Aalto University in his native Finland, he moved to the Bay Area to experience the local tech scene firsthand (although the idea of living among palm trees was a great motivation to him as well). Tomi has played the guitar since his early teens, and he loves dank riffs and face-melting solos. In addition to enjoying guitar-heavy rock, he also has a soft spot for Taylor Swift. Outside of coding and music, Tomi is an avid sport fan and can’t get through his day without checking ESPN and the Athletic at least a dozen times. 

Minjun Cha

Minjun joined Chartmetric after finishing a reserach program at UC Irvine. At Chartmetric, his role is to keep the data 'in good shape'. As an avid and enthusiastic soccer fan and player, he is called Coach Minjun during the lunchtime soccer session. 

Nanette Wu

Nanette is a backend engineer passionate about the fascinating cross section of music and technology. She is currently pursuing a dual B.S. in Computer Science & Music at MIT, where she will begin the EECS Master of Engineering Program next year. In her free time, Nanette is on the hunt for Bay Area’s best boba shop and enjoys playing her clarinet, Clarinanette. 

Ethan Houston

Ethan is a second-year computer science student at the University of Texas. He grew up moving around Norway, Beijing, and the Palo Alto. He's interested in cybersecurity, cloud computing, and RESTful API development. In his free time he likes to work out, take photos, and hang out with friends. His favorite foods are 羊肉串 and 兰州拉面. 

Gregory Yannett

Greg is an aspiring data scientist with a passion for all things music. He is beyond excited to have the opportunity to combine his love for both music and data science to help Chartmetric create the ultimate music analytics platform. When Greg does not have his nose deep in a Jupyter Notebook, he spends his time playing guitar and bass with a band in San Francisco and hiking around the Bay Area. After the summer, he will go back to UC Berkeley to finish his double major in Data Science and Statistics.
