Sung Cho has fifteen years of industry experience in mobile game development and data analytics. Before founding Chartmetric, he was product manager of Sales Cloud applications at Oracle. He strongly believes that data can solve challenging problems and improve our understanding of people and their behaviors. Sung received his MBA from UCLA Anderson, while enjoying the breeze of Santa Monica and the view of the Pacific beach.
Chaz is a chief commercial officer at chartmetric and helps with strategy, marketing and client relationships. He also advises major and independent labels, as well as managers and publishers, on streaming, helping them create new ways to grow audiences for artists globally. In the past, he held senior positions in major record companies and founded Grammy Award-winning indie labels, as well as working in the live music sector and nightclubs. Chaz lectures internationally in universities and speaks regularly at conferences including Google Zeitgeist on the future of the music industry.
Komala is a full stack developer who can’t get through the day without Bollywood songs blasting in her ears. Komala completed her bachelor’s degree in Computer Science in SSN College of Engineering in India, after which she worked as a software engineer for about two years before moving to the Silicon Valley to get a master’s degree in Software Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
Jason is Chartmetric's Music Data Storyteller and Project Manager. With a US Navy cryptologic intelligence analysis background, he now helps create actionable insights & tool features for Chartmetric clients. He has interned at Warner Music Group, Live Nation, Songtrust, and Universal Music Group. He earned two Master of Arts degrees at New York University (Music Business/Data focus & Pop Culture Analytics) and a Bachelor degree at University of Illinois (Marketing). Jason has a weakness for new music gear, bubble tea, electric skateboards.
Josh is a data scientist and research methodologist, with over a decade of experience working within the intersection of quantitative analysis and social theory. He earned a PhD in Sociology from University of California, Davis and a Master’s in Religious Studies from Stanford University. He specializes in translating fuzzy, real-world interests into concrete, explicit questions that can then be directly connected to data structures and algorithms. Josh is never happier than when he is in a corner booth listening to live music from passionate artists.
Nuttiiya is a data scientist with over 7 years of experience in high-performance computing and scientific modeling. She earned her PhD and Master’s in Computer Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she developed big-data parallelization, optimization and visualization techniques for cell system modeling software. Two of her most favorite things to do are data diving and playing guitar.
Adam is a UX Designer with a passion for illustration and beat production. Growing up in a family of artists, creative expression was embedded into his childhood. Constantly exploring different mediums from filmmaking to music production. With an Interaction Design degree from California College of the Arts; Adam creates elevated user experiences by humanizing the tools we build, maintaining focus on the goals of our users. He recognizes the impact designers and artists play in shaping the world around us, fascinated by what people create and asking why?
Tomi is a full stack developer specializing in front end engineering. After earning his bachelor's and master's in Computer Science from Aalto University in his native Finland, he moved to the Bay Area to experience the local tech scene firsthand (although the idea of living among palm trees was a great motivation to him as well). Tomi has played the guitar since his early teens, and he loves dank riffs and face-melting solos. In addition to enjoying guitar-heavy rock, he also has a soft spot for Taylor Swift. Outside of coding and music, Tomi is an avid sport fan and can’t get through his day without checking ESPN and the Athletic at least a dozen times.
Max is Chartmetric's Account Executive with experience in sales and communications. He earned his bachelor's degree from California State University, Sacramento where he studied communications and public relations. Outside of work, you can find him searching for new music to listen to or watching sports.
Michael has been immersed in the music industry for over 15 years. During this time he has dipped his feet into music production, radio and podcast hosting, as well as mixing as a DJ. Originally discovering Chartmetric during it’s soft launch in 2016, Michael quickly became an ambassador, bringing many of his fellow independent artists onboard. Michael is now part of the team, developing relationships with Artists and Labels, hosting product demonstrations and making funny jokes to impress his colleagues.
